FloatAway

Smart Sidebar apps open full screen, in one tap.

On an Oppo phone, an app you open from the Smart Sidebar starts in a small floating window, and you have to expand it. FloatAway opens it full screen straight away, the same as opening it from your home screen.

An app for Oppo and ColorOS. Free for 14 days, then paid once.

Which phones it works on

Oppo or ColorOS phones with the Smart Sidebar.

It is built and tested on an Oppo Find X9. The 14-day free trial is how you find out if it works on yours.

Setting it up

You set it up once, on the phone itself. You do not need a computer or a cable.

  1. Install the file

Your phone asks whether to allow installs from your browser. Say yes, then open FloatAway.

  2. Turn on Developer options

FloatAway guides you through it. You only do this once.

  3. Turn on Wireless debugging

You need Wi-Fi for this step. Your phone shows six digits, and you type them into the FloatAway notification. FloatAway turns Wireless debugging back off when it is done. Your phone may close and reopen FloatAway once. Nothing is lost.

  4. Let it run in the background

This keeps sidebar apps opening full screen. FloatAway shows one quiet notification while it is on.

Common questions

What about files I share from one app to another?

They open full screen too. If you would rather they did not, turn it off with the switch on FloatAway's home screen.

What happens to apps I already have open?

They stay where they are. FloatAway only changes how an app opens.

What happens when the 14 days end?

FloatAway asks you to buy it. If you do not, you owe nothing.

I uninstalled FloatAway and shared files still open full screen. How do I undo it?

The sharing switch is a phone setting, so it stays after FloatAway is gone. Reinstall FloatAway, run the setup again, and switch it off on FloatAway's home screen. Then you can uninstall it.
